OPEN REQUESTS FOR ANXF ART
In light of recent events of the cancellation of All New X-Factor, the only thing I can think to do is art for charity. I’m trying to get back into drawings, so I’m opening up a request box for All New X-Factor themed art and sketches. Anything safe for work.
The rules are, the art is free, just consider buying an issue of All new X-Factor. And maybe join the saveanxf page on facebook.

On #saveanxf…

I know I’ve been posting an awful lot of anxf stuff right now, but after the bombshell was dropped two days ago, it’s only natural.

First of all, Marvel isn’t the bad guy here. They did promote it quite a bit before the release and during, but sadly they are a business and are not going to waste money on something that isn’t selling as much as they would have hoped. Personally, I think it all came down to the fact that the first few issues were really not very well written, and the art was mediocre. For PAD and Carmine fans, it was great, but for an average person who just picks up the book with no prior knowledge of XF, it would be a big snooze. So what happened after the book started catching wind and getting a lot more interesting, only the fans who had started since the first issue were still reading, and everyone else was more interested in shelling out the three bucks for the titles with the bigger names and better artists.

ANXF is kind of a small business comic, competing with the walmart that is Deadpool and Captain America. That is no ones fault but the ones buying the comics.

So here’s some food for thought: the series isnt over yet. There are five more issues to go, and that could take 3-5 months to complete, depending on releases. That’s a long time to make a lot of waves, and all of YOU actually buying every issues, past and future, that comes out. Best case scenario, the comic continues. Worst case, it gets cancelled. To be honest, though I am too pessimistic to actually think the best would happen, but it doesn’t matter. We still have to fight for it, because even if it doesn’t save all new x-factor, in three months we could cause one hell of a PR stink for marvel, and anxf would at least go out in a blaze of glory.

So chin up. Enjoy the next five issues of all new x-factor, and BUY THEM. Make fanart, go to your local comic shop and see if you can’t  figure out a way to help promote the comic—never hurts to ask. Support Peter David, Carmine, Pop Mhan, and Kris Anka; support Marvel.

The main thing I worry about is that no one will take these wonderful characters who have so much potential after PAD lets them go…by loosing anxf, we lose Pietro and Luna bonding as father and daughter (and a possible chance at hooking back up with Crystal), Doug’s journey through depression and contemplating suicide, Lorna’s mental breakdowns and learning how to be a good leader, Gambit learning how to….not be Gambit; and Danger and Warlock being adorable awkward psuedo-lovers. Oh and Georgia and Luna being bffs forever and ever. Honestly, the story had so much potential it’s staggering, and we lose all of it because of bad luck. It sucks.
